Traditional to informal, sensual to shy, dramatic to demure: 14 gowns reflect 14 personalities of today’s Carolina Herrera woman. Designed for a relaxed wedding on the beach or a traditional ceremony at the altar, a second wedding or a first-time bride, each one is a celebration of stylish romance. “I wanted the bride to be the dream,” Herrera says.

The Spring 2012 Bridal Collection is made of lovely pleasures for a woman on one of the most important days of her life. Herrera looked no further than the women who wear her clothes for inspiration, adding delicate flourishes to the relaxed chic that has made her gowns adored by brides around the world.
“The real women of today wear these dresses, and they should be the inspiration. This is an homage to them.”

Traditional fabrics are contrasted with surprising choices such as a duchess satin that is faintly color- blocked with the palest dove gray and champagne. Wool and silk is another unusual choice, woven from opaque to sheer.
Embellishments are luxurious but subtle in a sparkling bouquet or Art Deco and floral embroideries that the bride can choose from to customize her gown. A black-and- white floral appliqué adds an unexpected, graphic touch to a lace gown.

The petticoat of each gown is embroidered with the bride’s initials in blue, matching the grosgrain ribbon stitched into every waist. “I love the hidden details,” Herrera says.
“All of these elements make the collection now,” Herrera says. “I love that each gown has a different personality. Each is special and luxurious in its own way, just as the woman who wears it should feel on this very important day.
