Carolina Herrera Bridal Fall 2019

The latest Carolina Herrera bridal collection for Fall 2019 was inspired by Wes Gordon’s recent summer trip to Portugal. “This bridal collection, like the blue and white tiled walls of a Portuguese garden, is utterly romantic and as unique as it is timeless,” the designer wrote.

Gordon portrayed the elegance and femininity of the Carolina Herrera house with his touch of modern glamour. The collection celebrates diversity by combining the latest bridal trends such as large bows and dramatic necklines with exquisite floral beading classic tread work. Gordon has demonstrated that there isn’t a huge gap between the bridal and ready-to-wear collection. He thinks that one of the most significant elements of Mrs Herrera’s approach was not to create a uniform bridal look but to understand what makes each bride unique in her own  stylish way.

A story of Love and The Nature

A beautiful  summer wedding filled with love, laughter and precious details, in a particularly important place for Alba and Carlos. They were surrounded by nature with their loved ones and had the sea as their witness. Alba wore a romantic and minimalistic boho-chic wedding gown designed by Catherine Deane which was filled with exquisite details and fitted perfectly with her personality. It was without the doubt the perfect choice for the style of her wedding.

Vera Wang Bridal Spring 2019

The Vera Wang Spring 2019 bridal collection is dominated by vibrant and sumptuous colours. “I wanted to explore translucency and movement, and obviously color, but in a new way,” she explained, “in order to ignore certain ‘bridal’ dictums, like white, beading, acres of lace, and traditional ball skirts.”

Inspired by the paintings of Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, the collection celebrates romanticism with Vermeer’s sense of mystique. Not playing by the rules and influenced by Vermeer’s use of colour, Vera Wang has created a unique and exceptional collection that shows once again her appreciation for tradition while providing a fresh touch of originality. Vera has once again has kept the momentum by focusing on movements and keeping her designs light and airy.

Hubert de Givenchy the great master of Haute Couture

The world of fashion has lost one of its great talents. Hubert de Givenchy was the last of the generation of designers of French haute couture. In this article we commemorate his incredible work that has marked an unforgettable footprint in haute couture.

In the 1950s, Givenchy presented his first collection with unique and innovative pieces, like the Bettina blouse, giving a new direction to elegance with simplicity. In this way he created the dresses with the minimum of seams possible, thus enchanting the woman’s body:

“The dress must follow the body of a woman. It is not the body that must adapt to the dress.”

With this idea, Givenchy showed his admiration for femininity and his particular vision of fashion, which we should all follow.

The French designer marked his fame by creating personalised clothing for princesses and first ladies of high society in the mid-twentieth century, such as Jackie Kennedy or the Duchess of Windsor. His most beloved client was the legendary actress Audrey Hepburn who also shared great admiration for Givenchy

“He is more than a designer, he is a personality creator”.

Hepburn commissioned the French courtier to make the emblematic dresses she wore in her most recognised movies, such as Breakfast in Tiffany, Sabrina and Funny Face.

Givenchy was the couturier of Audrey Hepburn not only in the movies, but also in real life. In her second marriage to Andrea Dotti, Audrey wore a pale pink long-sleeved wool mini-dress, designed by her close friend. Her cute headscarf was made from the same fabric as her beautiful dress, creating an iconic look that was dramatically different from the traditional bridal veil.

Hubert de Givenchy was part of a generation of designers who sought perfection from beginning to end using high-quality fabrics sewn with extreme attention to detail often using time-consuming
hand-executed techniques.

Sophie Et Voilà Evening Collection

For the first time, Farah Novias is pleased to announce collaboration with the renowned and prestigious Spanish fashion label ; Sophie et Violà in Barcelona. The background of the creator of the firm Sofia Arribas as an architect and her knowledge of haute couture since childhood resulted in a structured style collection with impeccable details.

According to Farah, “The Spanish fashion has traditionally been characterised by its elegant and classic style; nowadays more modern and more individual touches are being introduced, reflecting a greater extent of catwalk trends in bridal fashion. The way the woman dresses is changing, Sofia understands this trend of change and reflects it perfectly in her contemporary designs. “

Oscar de la Rent Spring 2018 Bridal Collection

For their first bridal collection as creative directors for Oscar de la Renta Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim continued with the late desginer’s legacy and love for flowers. “We kept some Oscar-isms, like sashes and ferns and foliage as a strong base for embroideries, because he loved gardens so much,” Garcia said. “But we’re making it much lighter and more relaxed,” Kim added.
Among floral guipure lace, silk tulle with jasmine embroidery, Chantilly lace with anemone appliqué and stretch silk georgette, there were modern column gowns, ballgowns, a suit with a silver sequin corset and lots of illusion necklines.
The designers surprised everyone with a less conventional bridal look which Kim called “Ode to Sarah Jessica Parker”, with a white denim jacket embroidered with “Just Married” across the back over a white, tea-length tulle ball skirt embroidered with the Oscar de la Renta signature across the hem.
