The Carolina Herrera Bridal Collection Fall 2015

Vera Wang Spring 2015 Bridal Collection

The Vera Wang Spring 2015 bridal collection was Vera at her finest. Vera achieved a seductive and dramatic bridal look by releasing a short video instead of a live runway show. In a press release she explains that her intention is to reach a wider audience than she could with a catwalk presentation

“The opportunity to create a visual and expressive experience of the clothes, as interpreted by my fashion vision, is a whole new way for me to communicate with not only brides, but women everywhere,” she said. “In this instance, bridal becomes the artistic vehicle to advance my love of fashion in general. I hope you will enjoy this new experience.”

The lightness of being, delicate and discipline, sensual and seductive were the inspirations for the 2015 collection. The Vera Wang bride is as romantic as ever this season -princess and mermaid silhouettes as well as simpler column dress in lace and embroidered tulle. Overall the collection is the perfect blend of seductive beauty with a hint of mysterious elegance.

Carolina Herrera Spring 2015 Bridal Collection

The Carolina Herrera Spring 2015 Bridal collection reflects the softness and the grace of romantic and traditional embroidered wedding gowns. The main focus of the collection is on “ hidden luxuries” such as the embellished Chantilly lace covered with layers of transparent silk tulle or hand-embroidered motifs over silk chiffon. The collection was just what you would expect from the designer- elegant and feminine with an ethereal feel, while an element of surprise was found on the dramatic back of many dresses, which added a seductive beauty to the collection.

Herrera’s wedding gowns are for the classic bride who makes no excuse for wanting to look and feel like a princess on her wedding day.

Anne Barge Fall 2014 bridal collection

The Anne Barge Fall 2014 Bridal collection brings us a vintage feel that has been a trend in bridal fashion for quite a while now. Beautiful laces and delicate embroideries on layers of organza are wrapped around feminine silhouettes and draped bodice.
Inspired by the Hollywood in the thirties the designer explains in an interview with the October 14 issue of The Daily Bridal Magazine how she has named the collection after famous ballets. What’s the story behind these frocks?
The layered pastel chiffons, laces, and tulles made me think of Degas’ dancers. Then I got inspired by ballerinas, so we named each dress after a famous ballet.Have you ever done ballet?
Let’s just say I was not very good!

The last few looks were very glamorous!
That’s our Black Label collection based on Hollywood in the Thirties. It’s glitzy!

How long did it take to bead the Garbo dress?
Around 1,800 hours!

Wedding Dress Necklines

The bodice is the most important part of the dress that is structured around the rib cage, covers essentially the back and the chest and includes the waist and neckline. A bodice can be in many ways and not only is the part that shapes the body but also draws attention to the face and the entire anatomy of the area including the shoulders, neck and bones of the clavicle.

Different types of neckline:

High neck: Inspired by the traditional Chinese dresses, it is a neckline that extends to the neck.

Recommended for: Brides wishing to lengthen the torso area.

Not recommended for: Thick collars.

Boat Neck:covers the curve of the collarbone almost to the end of the shoulders.

Recommended for: small busted brides as it enhances it.

Recommended for: Brides who enjoy an open neckline

Not recommended for: Brides whose weak point is the neckline

U-shaped: Also known as a ballerina neckline, this neckline favors all types of brides

V-neck: This v-shaped cut lengthens the neck and de-emphasizes the neckline.

Recommended for: B or C cups.

Not recommended for: Any cup larger or smaller as it would result either too full or too empty.

Square:  it is a modified square neck line
