The Grammy-winning star Ariana Grande tied the knot with real-estate developer, Dalton Gomez in an intimate ceremony. The wedding took place at the star’s home in Montecito California on May 15, with only 20 close guests in attendance.

Ariana looked stunning in a custom-made Vera Wang dress. The Audrey Hepburn inspired dress was the combined efforts of Ariana’s stylist Mimi Cuttrell and Vera Wang herself.

The minimalist strapless lily-white column dress was made of silk charmeuse and had an empire waist and a plunging low back. The beautiful star completed her final bridal look with a shoulder length veil and a satin bow accent that complemented her signature high ponytail hair style. Ariana kept her jewellery minimal only wearing her engagement ring, wedding band and a pair of extra-sentimental pearl and pear-shaped diamond drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz.

Princess Beatrice wore Queen Elizabeth’s vintage gown for her wedding

Princess Beatrice wore a vintage Norman Hartnell dress for her wedding to Italian property tycoon Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi. The exquisite gown was first worn by queen Elizabeth II at the premier of “Lawrence of Arabia” in 1962. The gown is made from ivory taffeta and is encrusted with diamanté and has a geometric checkered bodice. The Queen’a vintage dress had to be remodelled to fit princess Beatrice’s measurements. The beautiful bride paired her exquisite ivory gown with the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara that was worn by Queen Elizabeth II on her wedding day in 1947.

Princess Beatrice’s vintage choice was a touching gesture of sustainability respecting the current global pandemic.

Nicole Warne’s Three Wedding Dresses

The Australian influencer Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl decided to got married in Rippon Hall, a biodynamic vineyard in Lake Wanaka, New Zealand. With 1.7 million instagram followers and an online presence that was launched 9 years ago, Nicole decided to wear 3 different stunning couture dresses for the occasion.

For the ceremony she wore a Valentino Haute Couture gown made out of 38 meters of silk organza embellished with handmade silk flowers and petals encrusted with crystals and sequins. Twenty embroiders used 17 meters of silk tulle to create the embroidery during the period of 4 weeks and the result was one of a kind gown of silk organza with long sleeves.

After the stunning ceremony, Nicole changed into an espectacular Oscar de la Renta gown for the reception . The ruffled gown was created with seven layers of materials bonded together to create the dramatic Spanish flair that Oscar injects in most of his gowns. It took the experts of Oscar de la Renta atelier 300 hours to make the dress, which was designed by the creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.

For the after-party, Nicole chose to wear a dress by one of her favourite designers Dion Lee. It was a short white satin dress with asymmetric neckline and cut out details that allowed her to dance all night and enjoy one of the most special nights of her life.

Hubert de Givenchy the great master of Haute Couture

The world of fashion has lost one of its great talents. Hubert de Givenchy was the last of the generation of designers of French haute couture. In this article we commemorate his incredible work that has marked an unforgettable footprint in haute couture.

In the 1950s, Givenchy presented his first collection with unique and innovative pieces, like the Bettina blouse, giving a new direction to elegance with simplicity. In this way he created the dresses with the minimum of seams possible, thus enchanting the woman’s body:

“The dress must follow the body of a woman. It is not the body that must adapt to the dress.”

With this idea, Givenchy showed his admiration for femininity and his particular vision of fashion, which we should all follow.

The French designer marked his fame by creating personalised clothing for princesses and first ladies of high society in the mid-twentieth century, such as Jackie Kennedy or the Duchess of Windsor. His most beloved client was the legendary actress Audrey Hepburn who also shared great admiration for Givenchy

“He is more than a designer, he is a personality creator”.

Hepburn commissioned the French courtier to make the emblematic dresses she wore in her most recognised movies, such as Breakfast in Tiffany, Sabrina and Funny Face.

Givenchy was the couturier of Audrey Hepburn not only in the movies, but also in real life. In her second marriage to Andrea Dotti, Audrey wore a pale pink long-sleeved wool mini-dress, designed by her close friend. Her cute headscarf was made from the same fabric as her beautiful dress, creating an iconic look that was dramatically different from the traditional bridal veil.
